What exactly is the AVC-1 and how do I use it in my system?
The AVC-1 is a device that automatically controls the volume level of anything it is connected to. It was originally designed to match the volume of TV commercials to the same level of that the TV programming. While beta-testing it, we found that it also helped for movies; bringing up the level in low audio segments and limiting the loudness level of audio in other segments. THEN, we realized that since CD music behaves much in same way we should add a second mode to handle music. Music has natuarally occuring low passages, so we designed it to handle music differently by averaging the music and waiting longer to make decisions and to bring the levels up and down more subtlely.
